Look not to your keyboard of never seen friends, or the console of no consolation, there'll be no joy, if you stick to that.\u00a0
Look instead to the hills of adventure, the valleys and forests of discovery,\u00a0
where wings and limbs scurry through the plants and trees.\u00a0
Look to the rivers and lakes, that fill the seas, immerse yourself in nature's dreams.\u00a0
Look to those that nurture and care for the things you see.\u00a0

Ambling<\/h3>

The tarred road turns to the gravel track, now through grassy meadows, we amble.
I climb the gates and stiles, while my friends slip through a hole, then we follow the farmers tractor flattened tracks
One loves the long grass and zooms around in pure joy, the other occasionally roams, but mostly brushes my knee
The Zoomer making circles around the Brush-knee and me, the Brush-knee bemused by all the zooming and noise
The excitement over, we all amble along the way, the dew still held in the grass, dampening our feet
Trees and bushes give way to reeds and rushes, as we near the stream, but we only hear it, not see, as reeds obscure our view
So, we amble along it\u2019s hidden bank, to a simple bridge and spy across the field the banks of something bigger
As we near, a pair of Herons take flight, skipping the water as they go, but the Swans move for no one, as they regally glide by
Zoomer and Brush-knee are looking for a way in, but this is a path untrod and the banks are covered in weeds
After a further amble we come to an almost hidden path, leading straight to the water's edge, an anglers access, may be.
Zoomer and Brush-knee cool off and drink their fill, before we head off to find our way back to the trail
A gate climbed and friends coaxed through the gaps, two fields more and another stile, before the trail is back in view

Mid-Winter\u00a0<\/h3>

In the grip of mid-winter, there is yet a promise of spring.\u00a0\u00a0 As the stems appear, from the bulbs within.\u00a0\u00a0 Each day that passes, there is a minute or two, more light.\u00a0\u00a0 As day gradually takes over from the night.\u00a0<\/p>

But we must not rest on our laurels just yet. \u00a0 Wintery blasts, can still pose an icy threat.\u00a0\u00a0 And rivers that broke their banks and made lakes of land.\u00a0 Can freeze over at nature\u2019s command.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

And now invite our children, seeking their play.\u00a0 Unheeding the warnings to stay away.\u00a0 So, fun turns to a tragedy, in the blink of an eye. \u00a0 Everyone mourning and asking why.\u00a0<\/p>

Leaves are greener everyday colourful blossoms abound.\u00a0\u00a0 Daffodils have already had their moment and give way to the Bluebell carpet.\u00a0 Cute little furry friends play in the hedgerows and fields beyond.\u00a0\u00a0 Chicks hatching as coloured feathers dart from nests in pursuit of food. \u00a0 All promises of new things to come, continuation and omnipresence.\u00a0\u00a0 Reminding us, that periods of dormancy are just a reset before new growth. A time to take stock, prepare and be ready to stride forth at the new dawn.\u00a0 From latency, see potential, from dormancy, see new growth.\u00a0 Take nature\u2019s lead and let it shape your life, as we are a part.<\/p>

Gently Flowing \u00a0<\/h3>

After weeks of little rain, the usually powerful river Wye, is but a stream. Gently flowing through the shiny white rocks, normally unseen. Little rock pools, a nursery for the hatchlings of the great Salmon and Chubb.\u00a0 Piled up scree and rounded, flattened skimmers, leftovers from the winter flood.\u00a0 Rushes and driftwood, now left high and dry, until. The rains come and the parched riverbed will refill. Herons wait on the rocks or perch in the trees on the shore.\u00a0 Scanning the water and banks for fish and frogs and more.\u00a0 Moorhens and Ducks, scurry around and dive for their feed. While the majestic Swan, gracefully floats by, it doesn\u2019t see the need.\u00a0\u00a0 The beautiful house, with its river view bedrooms, sits high up on the bank.\u00a0 For protection from the 100-year flood, the current owner\u2019s, have a lord to thank. Originally a fishing lodge, tastefully and luxuriously upgraded, with surprises galore.\u00a0 Modestly called a bed and breakfast, but this Welsh heartland gem is so much more.\u00a0\u00a0 Open just a few times a year. If you're lucky, you\u2019ll be graced with a stay.\u00a0 Perfect combination of the enjoyment of nature, in a luxurious way. The welcoming friendly warmth and care, the hosts are naturally bestowing.\u00a0 Is in tune with the surrounding\u2019s and the ever-present river, gently flowing.<\/p>

My work mask, the professional me, where rules are king and integrity a must.
With due diligence, I carry out my tasks.
Experience and training, stand me in good stead, as someone to trust.

My family mask, is where I am nearly me.
As I juggle the wants and the needs of those I hold dear.
The real me is sometimes lost in the soup of living and life.
Time spent with my family, fills me with cheer.

The social mask fits the tightest, it\u2019s to shield me from the world.
Where I can be what you think I am or what I want you to see.
Where I robustly protect my vulnerabilities or unleash my sarcastic ways.
Portraying the me that you think you know or want me to be.

Whereas, my inner self mask is where I am really me.
A poet that writes what no one expects or asks.
Written from my heart, the words bleed onto the page.

I\u2019ve been running free for such a long time, I think I\u2019ve lost my way. At first, I saw a purpose, a life that was my own. Free to do as I pleased, each & every day. But now you\u2019ve caught me in your net, I\u2019ve got nowhere to go. Please trap me and save me from my soul.<\/p>

Trouble just seems to come from everywhere. But back when I started, life was so much simpler. No one really noticed me, now everyone seems to stare. But now you\u2019ve got me in your grip, I\u2019ve got nowhere to go. Please trap me and save me from my soul.<\/p>

Never thought I needed anyone\u2019s love, was happiest by my self. My insular regression, was just suppression, as it turned out to be. But now I\u2019ve realised I\u2019m actually lonely, need someone else. I\u2019m glad you\u2019ve found me, I don\u2019t want you to go. Please trap me and save me from my soul.<\/p>

Check-in with others, check-in with yourself. Don\u2019t wait for Mental Health Day. See the signs, look for the differences, the character changes, the insular regression. This day serves only to remind, to reinforce, to signpost, to extend a warm hand. Reach out for that hand and grasp it tight, lest you succumb to your depression.<\/p>

An offer of help can easily be rejected, for fear of appearing weak. When the opposite is true, as just by carrying on, bravery is displayed. Be braver still and accept that coffee and chat or accompanied stroll. Let not your demons or the load that weighs you down, make you afraid.\u00a0<\/p>

Talking is good or a laugh and joke, just to take your mind off stuff. A lot can be achieved by an un-judging, empathetic and caring ear. Seek out that ear, offer or disguise it, so that others are enriched by its use.
